Job Description
We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and dedicated Night Nanny to provide top-tier overnight care for infants and young children in private homes within the Oxford, Mississippi area. This role demands professionalism, expertise in infant care, and the ability to establish calming routines. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of nighttime care, allowing parents essential rest while ensuring the baby’s comfort and well-being. This is a high-premium position for nannies with significant experience and a proven track record of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive overnight care for infants and young children, typically from evening to morning hours.
- Feed, burp, change, and soothe infants as needed throughout the night.
- Establish and maintain consistent sleep routines, offering gentle sleep training support as desired by the family.
- Document detailed logs of the baby's nighttime activities, including feeding times, diaper changes, and sleep patterns.
- Ensure the nursery is tidy and organized, preparing bottles and necessary items for the next day.
- Communicate effectively and discreetly with parents regarding the child's nightly well-being.
- Adhere to the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and confidentiality.
- Offer support and guidance to parents on infant sleep, feeding, and development.
- Handle minor household duties related to infant care, such as washing bottles.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional night nanny or newborn care specialist experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in infant sleep patterns, feeding, and development.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications (infant and child).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Unwavering commitment to punctuality, reliability, and professionalism.
- Clean background check and driving record.
- Non-smoker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with multiples (twins, triplets).
- Knowledge of various sleep training methods.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Fluency in a second language.
