Job Description

Join our compassionate and dedicated team as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) within a dynamic birth center environment. This role is crucial for providing holistic, patient-centered care to women throughout their lifespan, with a strong emphasis on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum support. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive birth experiences and comprehensive women’s health services, adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care in a birth center setting.
  • Conduct thorough physical assessments, diagnose, and treat common health problems.
  • Manage labor and delivery for low-risk pregnancies, promoting natural birth processes.
  • Offer family planning services, gynecological care, and health education to women.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
  • Advocate for patient needs and preferences, promoting informed consent and shared decision-making.

Required Skills

  • Current RN and CNM licensure in New Mexico.
  • Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
  • Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse-Midwifery program.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in a birth center or similar low-intervention maternity setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, particularly Epic.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
  • Additional certifications such as NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
