Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Order Picker Forklift Driver to join our dynamic warehouse team. This combined skilled role requires proficiency in operating various types of forklifts (reach truck, stand-up, sit-down) as well as expertise in accurate order picking to ensure timely and precise delivery of products to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork, thriving in a fast-paced distribution environment. You will be responsible for material handling, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various forklift equipment, including reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, and sit-down forklifts, safely and efficiently.
- Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper product placement and secure transport.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counting and physical inventory as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and food safety standards.
- Relocate and stack products, pallets, and materials within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and resolve operational issues.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating forklifts (reach truck, stand-up, sit-down).
- Proven experience in order picking and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Previous experience in the food service distribution industry.
- Experience with Sysco's internal inventory systems.
