Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Drum Teacher to join our vibrant team at School of Rock Land O’ Lakes. This role focuses on inspiring and educating students of all ages and skill levels in the art of drumming, primarily during afternoon shifts. You will be responsible for providing engaging private lessons and group band coaching, fostering a love for music, and helping students achieve their performance goals. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert drum instruction in one-on-one lessons and group band practices.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and the School of Rock curriculum.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
- Prepare students for live performances at local venues and School of Rock showcases.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and high-energy learning environment.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure the studio's drum equipment is well-maintained and in good working order.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in drumming across various styles and genres.
- Proven ability to teach drums effectively to students of diverse ages and skill levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for music education and inspiring young musicians.
- Ability to work afternoon and evening shifts, and some weekends as required for performances.
- Reliability and strong organizational skills.
- Commitment to the School of Rock teaching philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional teaching experience, preferably in a music school setting.
- Active performance experience in bands or as a session musician.
- Experience with music technology and recording equipment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
