Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Part-time Nanny for weekend school pick-up and supervision in a local Austin suburb. This role is perfect for someone with a genuine love for children, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to providing a safe and engaging environment. The primary responsibility will be picking up children from school on designated weekend days and ensuring their well-being until parents return. Additional light household tasks related to childcare may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pick up children from a local suburban school on designated weekend afternoons.
- Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times, during transit and at home.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play.
- Prepare simple snacks and meals for children.
- Assist with homework or educational activities as needed.
- Maintain a tidy and organized play area and children's common spaces.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children's activities and any pertinent information.
- Follow all family rules and routines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare (babysitting, nannying, daycare, or teaching).
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Reliable and insured vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or relevant college coursework.
- Prior experience specifically with school-aged children.
- References from previous childcare positions.
- Knowledge of local Austin area schools and community resources.
