Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Private Piano Teacher to join our team, offering instruction in either students’ homes or one of our studio locations within the Sandy area. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about music, skilled in piano instruction, and capable of creating engaging, personalized lesson plans. The position offers flexible hours, allowing you to build a schedule that complements your lifestyle while making a significant impact on students’ musical journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, individualized piano instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to each student's learning style, goals, and musical interests.
  • Teach music theory, technique, sight-reading, and performance skills.
  • Prepare students for recitals, examinations, and other performance opportunities as appropriate.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding progress, assignments, and scheduling.
  • Maintain a professional and encouraging learning environment.
  • Track student progress and adapt teaching methods as needed.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional proficiency in piano performance and pedagogy.
  • Proven ability to teach a diverse range of students effectively.
  • Strong understanding of music theory and various teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation for home-based lessons (if applicable).
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for music education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching piano privately or in a school setting.
  • Experience with various musical genres and teaching diverse repertoire.
  • Familiarity with music examination boards (e.g., ABRSM, RCM) if applicable.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required).
