Job Description
Are you passionate about providing nurturing care to newborns and supporting new parents during their most precious time? BayCare Health System is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as a Part-time Newborn Care Aide for our Weekend Night Shift. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, non-medical care for newborns during weekend night shifts, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Assist with feeding, diaper changes, comforting, and soothing infants according to established protocols and parent preferences.
- Monitor infant sleep patterns and overall well-being, reporting any concerns to nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized nursery or patient room area, adhering to all hygiene standards.
- Document observations and care activities accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policies.
- Offer supportive presence and light assistance to new parents, respecting their privacy and recovery needs.
- Participate actively in all required training and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all BayCare Health System policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience for infants and new parents.
- Exceptional reliability and punctuality, especially for night shifts.
- Strong observational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols precisely.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver infants, and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, sensitive healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (e.g., babysitting, daycare, elder care) or customer service.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
- Interest in pursuing a career in nursing or allied health.
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team during night hours.
