Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-time Storeman to join our weekend distribution center team in Martinez, GA. This vital role involves supporting the efficient operation of our warehouse by handling incoming and outgoing goods, managing inventory, and ensuring a smooth flow of products. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position offers consistent weekend hours, perfect for someone looking to supplement their income or gain valuable logistics experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Store materials and products in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently for outgoing shipments, preparing them for dispatch.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate).
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with loading trucks and other vehicles as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory status and operational issues.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution center setting.
- Certification to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Valid driver's license.
