Job Description

As a Pharmacy Compliance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our pharmacy operations adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations. This position supports the compliance team by managing documentation, assisting with audits, researching regulatory updates, and contributing to a culture of compliance within our fast-paced pharmacy environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess a keen interest in regulatory affairs within the pharmaceutical industry. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain foundational experience in pharmacy compliance and contribute to patient safety and operational excellence. This is an On-site position located in Wesley Chapel, FL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of compliance documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular reviews of pharmacy operations to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines (DEA, FDA, HIPAA, state pharmacy boards).
  • Support the compliance team during internal and external audits, including gathering requested information and data.
  • Research and track changes in pharmacy laws and regulations, summarizing key updates for the team.
  • Coordinate compliance training materials and schedules for pharmacy staff.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding compliance matters, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all compliance-related activities and incidents.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement corrective actions and improve compliance processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to research and interpret regulatory information
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, public health, paralegal studies)
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or regulatory environment
  • Familiarity with pharmacy law and HIPAA regulations
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
