Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Elk Grove, CA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications to our patients. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Receive and process prescription orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain patient profiles and update medication records.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Assist with medication reconciliation and insurance claims processing.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of pharmacy equipment.
- Assist in compounding medications as needed.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, hospital, or clinic setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations and medication names.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field.
- Experience with Kaiser Permanente's specific pharmacy systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Tagalog) is a plus.
- Experience with sterile compounding techniques.
