Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and experienced individual to join Pinterest as a Fleet Logistics Specialist with a dedicated focus on Autonomous Technology. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in researching, planning, and overseeing the integration of autonomous systems into our logistics operations. You will analyze existing fleet structures, identify opportunities for automation, evaluate potential autonomous solutions, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to pilot and deploy these technologies. Your expertise will help Pinterest optimize efficiency, enhance safety, and drive innovation in our global operational footprint. This position requires a strong blend of logistical understanding, technical acumen in autonomous systems, and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and feasibility studies on emerging autonomous vehicle technologies relevant to Pinterest’s logistics needs.
- Develop strategic roadmaps for the integration of autonomous solutions into existing and future fleet operations.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, product, and data science teams to define requirements and evaluate autonomous system prototypes.
- Manage pilot programs for autonomous vehicles, drones, or other robotic logistics solutions, including vendor selection, testing, and performance analysis.
- Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of autonomous technology deployments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry best practices for autonomous fleet operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, technology providers, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership on autonomous technology strategy, progress, and recommendations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscapes in autonomous logistics.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or fleet operations, with a focus on technology integration.
- Demonstrated experience or strong understanding of autonomous systems, robotics, or AI in a logistics context.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and visualization techniques.
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Robotics, Operations Research, Autonomous Systems Engineering).
- Experience with simulation software for logistics or autonomous vehicle deployment.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for autonomous vehicles (e.g., DOT, local ordinances).
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other relevant project management methodologies.
- Prior experience working at a major tech company or a startup focused on autonomous logistics.
