Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Policy Analyst to join our team in West Valley City. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research, analyzing policy initiatives, and developing recommendations to support our clients in various sectors. This role involves deep dives into regulatory frameworks, socio-economic impacts, and political landscapes to provide actionable insights for effective policy development and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on public policies, legislation, and regulatory frameworks at local, state, and federal levels.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and forecast policy impacts.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefs, presentations, and other communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate policy analysis into broader strategic initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and subject matter experts, to gather information and build consensus.
- Monitor policy developments and recommend adjustments to strategies based on new information or evolving priorities.
- Assist in the development and drafting of policy proposals, white papers, and advocacy strategies.
Required Skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to synthesize complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining intricate policy issues clearly.
- Strong research capabilities, including qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, Sociology, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS).
- Familiarity with the legislative and regulatory processes in Utah or at the federal level.
- Previous experience in a consulting firm, government agency, or think tank.
