Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Printing Press Operator to join our dynamic team in Port St. Lucie, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining advanced printing presses, ensuring high-quality output, and meeting production deadlines. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain sheetfed or web offset printing presses, including setup, adjustment, and breakdown.
- Monitor print quality throughout the production run, making necessary adjustments to ensure consistent color and registration.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Load paper and ink, and manage other supplies required for printing operations.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including bindery and finishing departments, to ensure smooth workflow.
- Complete production paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating printing presses (sheetfed or web offset).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret job specifications and quality control documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and color perception.
- Basic computer proficiency for operating press controls.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in printing technology.
- Experience with specific press models used by Quad/Graphics.
- Knowledge of various paper stocks and ink types.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or 5S methodologies.
