Job Description
Join the RTC team as a Night Shift Public Transit Bus Cleaner! We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented individual to ensure our fleet of public transit buses is meticulously cleaned and maintained nightly. This vital role contributes directly to the comfort and safety of our passengers and helps uphold the professional image of the RTC. Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough interior cleaning of all public transit buses, including seats, floors, windows, and driver's areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces such as grab rails, seatbacks, and fare boxes.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum bus interiors to remove dirt, debris, and spills.
- Clean exterior surfaces as needed, including windows and mirrors.
- Restock onboard amenities like hand sanitizer dispensers (if applicable).
- Report any damage, maintenance issues, or unusual conditions observed during cleaning to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night hours.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and carry for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Valid driver's license (preferred, but not strictly required for all roles).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning.
- Experience working night shifts.
- Familiarity with public transit operations or similar large vehicle cleaning.
