Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Recommendation Engine Operator to join our dynamic team. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance and accuracy of Amazon’s powerful recommendation systems. Working with flexible hours, you will monitor system outputs, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with data scientists and engineers to refine our algorithms. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a core aspect of the Amazon customer experience from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the performance and output quality of recommendation engines on an ongoing basis.
- Analyze recommendation data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and escalate problems related to recommendation accuracy or system malfunction.
- Provide actionable feedback and insights to data science and engineering teams for system optimization.
- Curate and refine recommendation sets based on established guidelines and best practices.
- Participate in user acceptance testing for new recommendation features and algorithm updates.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and ethical AI principles in recommendation generation.
- Document processes, findings, and resolutions in a clear and concise manner.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data analysis, including basic understanding of metrics and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Basic understanding of e-commerce platforms and how recommendation systems function.
- Familiarity with general office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience working with recommendation systems, content management, or data curation.
- Experience in a fully remote work setting.
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and their application in product/feature improvement.
- Exposure to SQL or other data querying languages.
