Job Description
Join Schneider National as a Regional Flatbed Driver, where you’ll be an essential part of our specialized transportation team. This role focuses on hauling various types of freight, requiring securement and tarping expertise. You’ll operate primarily within a designated region, ensuring timely and safe delivery while benefiting from competitive pay, additional tarping compensation, and performance-based bonuses. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed trucks to transport goods across regional routes.
- Secure and properly tarp diverse cargo types, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting any issues.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all loads, driving hours, and deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company policies.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Proven experience with flatbed hauling, securement, and tarping techniques.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, pull, and maneuver heavy tarps and securement equipment.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to DOT regulations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement.
- Experience with various types of flatbed freight (e.g., building materials, machinery).
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
