Job Description

Are you a design student eager to build a standout portfolio with real-world projects? Canva is looking for a passionate and creative Remote Student Designer to join our team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior designers in developing visual content for various projects, including marketing materials, in-product elements, and user interface designs.
  • Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback effectively to refine designs.
  • Conduct research on design trends, user experience best practices, and competitor analysis.
  • Support the creation of presentations, mockups, and prototypes.
  • Maintain organized design files and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Actively seek opportunities to learn new design software and techniques.
  • Contribute fresh ideas and creative solutions to design challenges.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a design-related degree program (e.g., Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Visual Communications).
  • A foundational understanding of design principles (typography, color theory, layout).
  • Proficiency in at least one industry-standard design software (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • A developing portfolio showcasing personal or academic design projects.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with animation or motion graphics.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for web design contexts.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with user research or usability testing.
