Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead operations at one of our high-volume, upscale dining establishments in Albany, NY. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a proven track record in restaurant management, capable of overseeing all aspects of the business from front-of-house service to back-of-house efficiency. This role requires exceptional leadership, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of hospitality to ensure an unparalleled guest experience and operational profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, and cleanliness.
- Manage and develop a diverse team, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and revenue generation.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
- Actively engage with guests to gather feedback, resolve issues, and foster repeat business.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure menu quality and consistency.
- Implement marketing and promotional strategies to drive sales and increase brand visibility.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to maintain a motivated and high-performing team.
- Maintain accurate records, including sales, inventory, and payroll data.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in restaurant management, with at least 3 years as a General Manager in a full-service restaurant.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a large team.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, P&L analysis, and cost control.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in restaurant POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory, ordering, and vendor relations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience managing an upscale or fine dining establishment.
- Certification in ServSafe Food Protection Manager and TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS).
- Proven track record of increasing sales and improving operational efficiency.
