Job Description
Are you passionate about fashion and eager to start a career in visual merchandising? Hudson’s Bay in Kitchener is looking for a detail-oriented and creative individual to join our team as a Retail Mannequin Dresser (Trainee). This entry-level role is perfect for someone with an eye for style and a desire to learn the art of creating captivating displays. You will work closely with our visual merchandising team to bring our brand stories to life through expertly dressed mannequins and cohesive visual presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Dress and style mannequins according to visual merchandising guidelines and seasonal themes.
- Assist in the setup and takedown of visual displays, ensuring all elements are perfectly placed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of mannequins and display areas.
- Organize and prepare merchandise for display, including steaming, tagging, and sizing.
- Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to understand upcoming promotions and styling directives.
- Ensure all visual elements adhere to brand standards and safety regulations.
- Learn and apply best practices in visual merchandising techniques.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
- Basic understanding of fashion trends and styling.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and move merchandise (up to 25 lbs), and work with display fixtures.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a positive, can-do attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail environment (even if not specifically in visual merchandising).
- A background or interest in fashion, art, or design.
- Knowledge of current styling techniques and visual display principles.
