Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Retail Security Officer to join our team in Leeds City Centre. This is a static post role with stable hours, ideal for individuals who thrive in a structured environment and are committed to maintaining a secure and pleasant shopping experience for our customers. You will be responsible for deterring theft, ensuring the safety of our premises, and providing a visible security presence. This role requires excellent observation skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a strong commitment to customer service and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a highly visible and professional security presence to deter potential theft and anti-social behavior.
- Monitor CCTV systems and conduct regular patrols of the store premises, including sales floors, stockrooms, and staff areas.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and customer concerns, following established procedures.
- Report all incidents, suspicious activities, and security breaches accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in the prevention of loss through effective Bag/Stock searches for colleagues.
- Collaborate with store management and local law enforcement when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all company security policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers and staff with inquiries and directing them as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding License.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Proven ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Basic IT literacy for report writing and CCTV monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail security environment.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Knowledge of relevant security legislation and best practices.
