Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious individual for a Rod & Track Mounting position within our Calgary operations. This role is crucial for various interior and exterior installations, requiring a comfort level with working at heights using high ladders and other elevated work platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for precise measurement, cutting, and secure mounting of various rod and track systems, adhering strictly to project specifications and safety protocols. This is a physically demanding role that requires excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maneuver high ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated work platforms.
  • Measure, cut, and install various types of rods and tracks (e.g., for curtains, blinds, fixtures, signage).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Select appropriate tools and fastening methods for different materials and surfaces.
  • Ensure all installations are level, secure, and meet quality standards.
  • Conduct pre-task planning and hazard assessments, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other trades on site.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work safely and confidently at heights using high ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Experience with various hand and power tools (drills, saws, levels, tape measures).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and installations.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints or technical drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Fall Protection and WHMIS certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in a similar installation, carpentry, or general labour role.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
