Job Description

Bank of America is seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Bank Teller to join our dynamic team in Downey, CA. This pivotal role involves not only performing essential teller functions but also stepping into a leadership position, guiding and mentoring a team of tellers to deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the teller line, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Process a high volume of customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments, in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training to junior tellers, fostering a supportive and high-performing team environment.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for complex customer inquiries and escalate issues when necessary, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state banking regulations, as well as internal bank policies and security procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services, making appropriate referrals to other banking specialists.
  • Manage and reconcile cash drawers, vaults, and ATM machines.
  • Assist in opening and closing branch operations as required.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a bank teller or in a similar cash-handling and customer service role.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a professional setting.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
  • Proficiency in using banking software and standard office applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve customer conflicts effectively and maintain a positive demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience training or mentoring colleagues.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is highly desirable to serve our diverse community.
