Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and ethically-minded Safety Evaluator for AI Bots to join our team in Roseville, CA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing and evaluating the outputs of AI-powered conversational agents (bots) to ensure they adhere to strict safety, ethical, and content guidelines. You will play a pivotal role in identifying and mitigating potential biases, inappropriate content, and harmful interactions, contributing directly to the responsible development and deployment of our AI products. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong critical thinking skills, and a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive digital environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI bot responses and interactions against predefined safety, ethical, and content moderation guidelines.
  • Identify and categorize instances of bias, misinformation, offensive language, or other problematic content generated by AI bots.
  • Provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback to AI development teams to improve model performance and safety filters.
  • Contribute to the refinement and development of content moderation policies and ethical AI principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI engineers, researchers, policy experts, and legal counsel.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving AI ethical standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in regular calibration sessions to ensure consistent application of evaluation criteria.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify subtle nuances in language and context.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments based on complex guidelines.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and ability to learn new internal tools quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Ethics, Linguistics, Psychology, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in content moderation, trust and safety, quality assurance, or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and conversational AI technologies.
  • Experience working with large datasets or complex review queues.
  • Understanding of cultural sensitivities and diverse perspectives.
