Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Shopify Developer to join our dynamic team in Ottawa. This is an exciting opportunity for a developer who is proficient in building, customizing, and optimizing Shopify stores and applications. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our platform’s capabilities, working on challenging projects that directly impact the success of our merchants. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement custom Shopify themes and liquid templates from design mockups.
- Integrate third-party applications and APIs to extend Shopify functionality.
- Optimize existing Shopify stores for performance, scalability, and SEO best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Shopify themes, apps, and integrations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify platform updates, trends, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with Shopify platform development, including theme customization and app integration.
- Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Git version control.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
- Understanding of responsive web design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.js or Vue.js.
- Knowledge of headless commerce architecture.
- Experience with performance optimization tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Prior experience in the e-commerce industry.
