Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and precise Specialized Instrument Operator to join our manufacturing team in Santa Maria, CA. This role is critical to ensuring the quality and accuracy of our cutting-edge dental instruments. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining specialized machinery and instruments used in the production process, focusing on meticulous attention to detail and adherence to strict quality standards. This is an on-site position with weekly pay, offering a dynamic environment where precision and accuracy are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor specialized manufacturing instruments and machinery with a focus on high accuracy and precision.
  • Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and minor troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks, record data, and identify any deviations from specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions to set up and operate instruments correctly.
  • Maintain accurate production records, logs, and documentation as required by quality control procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, cleanroom standards, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve production issues and improve processes.
  • Assist in the training of new operators on instrument functionality and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience operating precision instruments or machinery in a manufacturing or lab setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and system monitoring.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., machining, engineering technology).
  • Experience in the medical device, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom procedures and environments.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO standards.
  • Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) or other advanced metrology equipment.
