Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart a rewarding career as a professional truck driver? XPO Logistics invites motivated individuals to join our Student Driver Program – Learn and Earn, Weekly Stipend! This comprehensive program is designed to transform enthusiastic learners with little to no prior experience into skilled and certified Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders. You’ll receive expert training, hands-on experience, and a weekly stipend while you learn, setting you up for a fulfilling career with one of the industry’s leaders. Upon successful completion of the program and obtaining your CDL, you will have the opportunity to transition into a full-time professional driving role with XPO Logistics, enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path for career advancement. This is an on-site training program.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in classroom instruction and hands-on driving practice.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws during training.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and skill development.
- Successfully complete all required written and practical examinations for CDL attainment.
- Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with instructors and peers.
- Communicate effectively regarding progress and any challenges faced.
- Prepare for and pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
Required Skills
- Eagerness and commitment to learn a new trade.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations).
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a role requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.
