Job Description
Are you a student looking for an exciting part-time opportunity to be a part of the vibrant live entertainment industry? AEG Presents is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Student Setup Crew in Fairbanks, Alaska. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and want to gain hands-on experience in event production. As a key member of our setup crew, you will contribute directly to the successful execution of major festivals, concerts, and other live events, working behind the scenes to bring spectacular productions to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of various event equipment, including sound systems, lighting rigs, staging components, and backdrops.
- Participate actively in the assembly and dismantling of stage structures, barricades, and other event infrastructure according to production plans.
- Execute technical setups under the guidance of lead technicians, ensuring proper cable management and equipment placement.
- Transport materials and equipment safely across event sites using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ensure all equipment is accounted for, properly stored, and maintained post-event, contributing to efficient turnaround.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and the team.
- Work collaboratively with the entire production team, including stage managers, technical staff, and other crew members, to achieve event goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area during setup, event operations, and tear-down phases.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) safely and repeatedly.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and dynamic event environments.
- Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in event setup, general labor, warehouse operations, or theatrical production is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as events demand.
