Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and efficient Textbook Packers to join our team for a seasonal period of high demand. This crucial role is vital in ensuring that educational materials reach students and institutions across the UK on time. As a Textbook Packer, you will be responsible for accurately picking, packing, and preparing textbooks for shipment from our Coventry distribution center. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to supporting the education sector during peak seasons.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack textbooks and other educational materials according to order specifications.
- Verify order contents against packing lists to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
- Prepare packages for shipment, including labeling, sealing, and organizing for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the packing area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines and operational procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) safely, if certified and needed.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily packing targets and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 15 kg frequently throughout the shift.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Basic literacy skills to read and understand packing lists and labels.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment.
- Effective communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, packing, or distribution role.
- Familiarity with inventory systems or scanning equipment.
