We are seeking motivated individuals to join our Trainee Heavy Vehicle Operator program, where we provide comprehensive, paid CDL-A training to help you obtain your Commercial Driver’s License. Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and successfully complete Schneider's CDL-A training program, demonstrating commitment to learning.
- Master the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for safe and compliant operation of heavy commercial vehicles.
- Undergo and pass all necessary written and behind-the-wheel tests to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Learn and adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations related to commercial driving, hours of service, and vehicle inspections.
- Develop proficiency in pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Successfully transition into a professional Heavy Vehicle Operator role with Schneider post-certification, transporting freight efficiently and safely.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
Required Skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Willingness to learn and commit to a demanding training schedule
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in a role requiring significant attention to detail or adherence to strict safety protocols
