Job Description
As a UPS City Driver, you will be the face of our company, responsible for the timely and safe delivery and pickup of packages within a specified route in Tampa, Florida. This role offers high visibility within the community and a competitive salary package for individuals committed to excellence in package delivery and customer service. You will operate a company vehicle, manage delivery manifests, and interact daily with a diverse customer base, ensuring every package reaches its destination efficiently and safely. This is an on-site position requiring adherence to all safety protocols and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a UPS package delivery vehicle, maintaining a clean driving record.
- Execute daily delivery and pickup schedules on assigned routes, meeting service deadlines.
- Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions, resolving issues professionally.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring accurate scanning, loading, and unloading.
- Complete daily paperwork and utilize handheld delivery devices accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure operational safety.
- Manage time effectively to complete routes efficiently and meet delivery targets.
Required Skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid driver's license (CDL not required for this role, but a clean driving record is essential).
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages up to 70 lbs. independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven track record of reliability and punctuality.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous commercial driving experience or experience in a customer-facing role.
- Familiarity with the Tampa metropolitan area and surrounding routes.
- Experience using handheld delivery technology or similar mobile devices for route management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
