Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Analyst with a strong focus on Business Intelligence to join our team in Sugar Land, TX. In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing our inventory management processes through robust data analysis, reporting, and strategic insights. You will leverage business intelligence tools to identify trends, forecast demands, and recommend improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. This position requires a proactive individual who can translate complex data into actionable business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain inventory reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in inventory accuracy, turns, and stock levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, and finance to understand business needs and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Forecast future inventory needs based on historical data, market trends, and business strategies.
  • Support strategic projects focused on inventory optimization, supply chain efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all inventory systems and reports.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements within inventory management and reporting.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
  • Ability to work with large datasets and synthesize information into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an inventory analyst, data analyst, or business intelligence role, preferably within a logistics or large-scale retail environment.
  • Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Certification in relevant BI tools or data analytics platforms.
