Job Description
Join the dedicated team at UPS as a Package Delivery Driver! We are seeking reliable and motivated individuals for immediate hire in Santa Maria, CA. As a UPS Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering packages to residential and business customers, ensuring timely and accurate service. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and UPS safety protocols.
- Deliver and pick up packages promptly and accurately across a designated route.
- Lift, lower, and carry packages that may weigh up to 70 lbs.
- Scan and log packages using handheld delivery technology.
- Provide exceptional customer service, interacting professionally and courteously with customers.
- Complete necessary paperwork and daily vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Navigate routes efficiently, demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no moving violations, DUIs, or at-fault accidents in the last 3 years).
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 70 lbs unassisted.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Santa Maria area.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving or a similar physically demanding role.
- Experience using handheld scanning devices and GPS navigation systems.
- High School Diploma or GED.
