Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Virtual Grant Writing Assistant to join our team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to contribute to the vital work of Doctors Without Borders USA by supporting our grant acquisition efforts. You will play a crucial role in researching funding opportunities, drafting compelling proposals, and managing grant-related documentation, all from the comfort of your home. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.
  • Gather and organize supporting documentation for grant applications, including budgets, project descriptions, and organizational history.
  • Maintain an up-to-date grant calendar and tracking system for submissions, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with program managers and finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in grant applications.
  • Support the stewardship of donor relationships by assisting with personalized communications and updates.
  • Ensure all grant applications comply with funder guidelines and internal policies.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to ongoing strategy discussions for fundraising.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
  • Understanding of the non-profit sector and humanitarian work.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (paid or volunteer) in grant writing, technical writing, or fundraising.
  • Familiarity with grant database software (e.g., Salesforce, Foundation Directory Online).
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting.
