Job Description
As a Weekend Bindery Aide at RR Donnelley, you will be a vital member of our production team, ensuring the high-quality finishing and timely delivery of printed materials. This part-time position is ideal for individuals seeking consistent weekend employment in a stable environment. You will support bindery operations by performing various tasks related to the cutting, folding, collating, and packaging of printed products. Working in a dynamic manufacturing setting, you will contribute to the smooth flow of our production process and help us maintain our high standards of quality in the publishing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor bindery equipment, such as cutters, folders, and collators, under supervision.
- Load and unload paper stock and finished products from machines efficiently and safely.
- Perform manual tasks including hand-folding, collating, sorting, and packing printed materials.
- Conduct thorough quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified standards and client requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times, adhering to all company safety guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and operational procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist other bindery staff and production team members as needed to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential quality issues quickly.
- Basic understanding of measurements and the ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
