Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acoustic Consultant to join our dynamic team in Naperville, Illinois. This is a high-impact role offering competitive compensation for a professional who can bring expertise in architectural acoustics, environmental noise control, and vibration analysis. As an Acoustic Consultant, you will be instrumental in delivering sophisticated acoustic solutions for a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and exceeding client expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive acoustic surveys, measurements, and data analysis for various project types.
- Develop detailed acoustic models and simulations using specialized software (e.g., Odeon, CadnaA, SoundPLAN).
- Design and recommend effective noise and vibration control solutions for architectural, environmental, and industrial applications.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports, specifications, and presentations for clients and project stakeholders.
- Ensure all acoustic designs and recommendations comply with relevant local, national, and international standards and regulations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on acoustic performance, materials, and best practices.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the overall technical development of the acoustics team.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in acoustic consulting.
- Proficiency in acoustic modeling software (e.g., Odeon, CadnaA, SoundPLAN, EASE).
- Strong understanding of acoustic principles, noise control techniques, and vibration isolation.
- Experience with acoustic measurement equipment and data acquisition.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality technical reports and communicate complex information effectively.
- Solid project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of relevant acoustic standards and regulations (e.g., ASTM, ISO, ANSI).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Acoustics or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or board certification (e.g., INCE Board Certification).
- Experience with programming languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
- Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and CAD software.
- Prior experience working on large-scale infrastructure, commercial, or environmental projects.
- Active participation in professional acoustic societies or organizations.
