Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Weight Loss Clinic Nurse with a strong focus on nutrition and wellness to join our dedicated team in Aurora, CO. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in guiding patients through their weight loss journey, providing education, support, and clinical oversight. This position requires a nurse who is passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their health goals through evidence-based practices, personalized care plans, and a holistic approach to well-being. You will work closely with physicians, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including health history, current weight, dietary habits, and lifestyle factors.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized weight loss plans in collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
- Provide one-on-one and group education on nutrition, exercise, behavioral strategies, and medication management related to weight loss.
- Administer prescribed medications and perform routine medical procedures as needed within the clinic setting.
- Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Offer ongoing support, motivation, and counseling to patients, addressing challenges and celebrating successes.
- Ensure patient safety and adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with dietitians, physicians, and other specialists to provide integrated patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in weight management and nutrition.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Strong understanding of nutrition, metabolism, and weight management principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a weight loss clinic, bariatric practice, or wellness center.
- Certification in weight management, nutrition, or related specialty.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience with motivational interviewing techniques.
