Job Description

Are you passionate about sound and data? Do you have a keen ear for detail and an analytical mind? Amazon is seeking a talented and dedicated WFH Audio Analyst with a strong focus on data and performance to join our innovative team. This is a 100% remote, full-time position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home. As an Audio Analyst, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality and performance of our audio-driven products and services. You will be responsible for meticulously analyzing vast amounts of audio data, identifying patterns, pinpointing issues, and contributing to strategic improvements. Your insights will directly impact user experience and product reliability across various Amazon initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of audio data to identify anomalies, evaluate quality, and assess performance metrics.
  • Categorize, label, and annotate audio segments according to established guidelines to support machine learning model training and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key audio performance indicators and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to troubleshoot issues and propose data-driven solutions for audio quality enhancement.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of audio data collection and analysis methodologies.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on audio data processing pipelines and deliverables.
  • Provide constructive feedback on tools and processes to optimize workflow efficiency and accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in audio analysis, data annotation, or a related data-centric role.
  • Exceptional listening skills and a keen ear for discerning nuances in audio.
  • Proficiency in using audio editing software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
  • Solid understanding of data quality principles and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Technology, Audio Engineering, Linguistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with SQL for querying databases.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts, particularly in the context of audio processing or speech recognition.
  • Previous experience working with large datasets in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS).
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
