Job Description
Are you fluent in English and another language? Do you have a passion for helping people connect across linguistic and cultural divides? LanguageLine Solutions is seeking dedicated Telephonic Interpreters to join our remote team. This is a crucial role for individuals who are bilingual and committed to providing accurate and confidential interpretation services from the comfort of their home. This position is 100% remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete, and confidential interpretation of conversations between English and a designated target language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, French, Arabic, etc.) over the phone.
- Maintain strict adherence to professional interpreter ethics, including confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy.
- Effectively manage call flow, ensuring clear communication and efficient service delivery.
- Utilize active listening skills and precise articulation to facilitate seamless conversations.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
Required Skills
- Exceptional fluency in English and at least one other language (both written and spoken).
- Outstanding verbal communication skills, including clear pronunciation and professional demeanor.
- Strong active listening, comprehension, and retention abilities.
- Proven capability to accurately and quickly interpret complex information, including technical or specialized terminology.
- High degree of cultural sensitivity, awareness, and understanding.
- Proficiency in using computer and phone systems for telephonic interpreting services.
- Ability to work independently in a home office environment with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous professional experience in telephonic or in-person interpreting.
- Certification in medical, legal, or community interpreting.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in linguistics, communication, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a customer service or call center setting.
