Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organised Stock Controller to join our dynamic team in Canary Wharf, London. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for career growth and hands-on technical training within a leading retail environment. As a Stock Controller, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient management of inventory, maintaining accurate stock records, and supporting the smooth operation of our store or distribution hub. You will play a vital role in our supply chain, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Process incoming and outgoing stock movements accurately.
- Maintain precise stock records using inventory management systems.
- Identify and report damaged, defective, or expired goods.
- Ensure proper storage and organisation of stockroom areas.
- Collaborate with sales, merchandising, and supply chain teams to optimize stock flow.
- Assist in the implementation of new stock control procedures and technologies.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and security regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management.
Required Skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy, including experience with spreadsheets.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift and move stock as required.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a stock control, warehouse, or retail environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or POS systems.
- Forklift license (though not mandatory, can be a plus for some roles).
- Understanding of supply chain principles.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
