Job Description

In this dynamic role, you will work directly alongside physicians, gaining invaluable hands-on experience by documenting patient encounters, assisting with administrative tasks, and contributing to the efficient flow of patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately document patient medical history, physical exams, and physician observations in real-time during patient visits.
- Transcribe dictated physician notes and ensure all relevant information is captured in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Assist physicians with navigating the EHR system, locating patient data, and completing necessary documentation.
- Prepare charts for upcoming appointments by gathering relevant patient information.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Anticipate physician needs to improve patient flow and maximize efficiency during clinic hours.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and other clinical staff.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in computer use and ability to learn new software quickly
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Punctuality and reliability
- A strong interest in medicine and a desire to pursue a career in healthcare
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting (volunteer or paid)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a pre-medical, pre-PA, or pre-nursing program
