Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Dive Boat Helper to join our team for the summer season. This temporary, full-time role is perfect for individuals who love the water, enjoy interacting with people, and are eager to support dive operations on our charter boats. You’ll be an integral part of ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and smooth experience for our divers and snorkelers. This is a hands-on position requiring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. No prior dive experience is necessary, but a comfort with boats and water environments is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of dive gear and supplies onto the boat.
  • Ensure the boat is kept clean and organized throughout the day, including tidying common areas and heads.
  • Provide support to the Captain and Divemasters as needed during charters.
  • Help passengers with gear setup, entry, and exit from the water.
  • Act as a friendly and helpful point of contact for all guests, answering questions and ensuring their comfort.
  • Maintain safety protocols and assist with emergency procedures under supervision.
  • Assist with boat maintenance tasks, such as washing down the deck and equipment after trips.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support boat operations.

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Comfortable working on boats and in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy dive gear (up to 50 lbs).
  • Must be able to swim.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of marine environments or water sports.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality.
  • Boating experience or familiarity with marine equipment.
  • Enthusiasm for diving or snorkeling.
