Job Description
We are offering a dynamic Paid Petroleum Engineering Internship designed for ambitious students eager to gain hands-on experience in both field operations and office-based project management. This internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world energy projects, work alongside experienced professionals, and develop critical skills in petroleum engineering. You will be exposed to various aspects of our operations, from reservoir characterization and production optimization to safety protocols and environmental compliance, within a leading global energy company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of geological and reservoir data.
- Participate in field visits to observe and support drilling, completion, and production operations.
- Help develop and optimize production strategies under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and summaries on project findings.
- Conduct research on new technologies and best practices in petroleum engineering.
- Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on various engineering projects.
- Learn to use industry-standard software for reservoir modeling and production forecasting.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites as required.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of at least two years of university studies in Petroleum Engineering.
- Familiarity with petroleum industry software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, IPM).
- Previous internship or co-op experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Demonstrated academic excellence (e.g., GPA of 3.0 or higher).
