Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Supermarket Order Picker, specifically for weekend shifts at our Cambridge store. This role is crucial in ensuring our customers receive their online grocery orders accurately and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for meticulously picking items from shelves, ensuring freshness and quality, and preparing orders for delivery or collection. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately picking and packing customer online grocery orders from store shelves.
- Ensuring all selected items are fresh, in date, and of the highest quality.
- Scanning products and managing inventory using handheld devices.
- Working efficiently to meet tight deadlines for order dispatch and collection.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe picking environment.
- Adhering to all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.
- Assisting with general store duties when required, especially during peak periods.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Good physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift items for extended periods.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for understanding order lists and product codes.
- Reliability and punctuality, particularly for scheduled weekend shifts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, warehouse, or order picking role.
- Familiarity with handheld scanning devices or order management systems.
- A strong customer service mindset, even in a back-of-store role.
