Job Description

Join Sims Lifecycle Services as an E-Waste Dismantler / Recycler at our indoor facility in Southport. This hands-on role involves the safe and efficient dismantling of various electronic equipment, components, and devices for material recovery and recycling. You will be an integral part of our team dedicated to diverting e-waste from landfills and contributing to a more sustainable future. This position requires careful attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently dismantle electronic waste (e.g., computers, servers, printers, consumer electronics) into component parts.
  • Sort and separate materials such as plastics, metals, circuit boards, and other hazardous components according to established procedures.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for the dismantling process.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and handling of materials.
  • Inspect incoming materials for identification and classification purposes.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets and quality standards.

Required Skills

  • Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Excellent attention to detail for material separation and identification.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25 kg regularly and stand for extended periods.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety guidelines.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components and their potential hazards (training provided).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or recycling environment.
  • Familiarity with waste management practices or electronics recycling.
  • Forklift certification (training can be provided for suitable candidates).
  • Basic computer literacy for logging and tracking materials.
