Job Description
Join our team at Publix as a Part-time High School Stock Clerk for weekend morning shifts! This is an excellent opportunity for high school students looking to gain valuable work experience in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Stock Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our shelves are well-stocked, organized, and ready for our customers. Your attention to detail and commitment to efficiency will contribute directly to a positive shopping experience, especially during our busy weekend mornings.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately stock shelves with new merchandise, following planograms and rotation guidelines.
- Ensure products are correctly priced and displayed on the sales floor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom and sales floor area.
- Assist customers with product location and basic inquiries in a friendly manner.
- Safely operate manual and electric pallet jacks, if applicable and certified.
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
- Remove outdated or damaged products from shelves and stockroom.
- Assist with receiving and unloading merchandise deliveries.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled weekend morning shifts.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a retail or grocery environment (even informal or volunteer work).
- Currently enrolled in high school or a recent graduate.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including some holidays if needed.
