Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Seasonal Driver Aide! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for temporary work during our busy season, requiring no driver’s license. As a ride-along assistant, you will support our UPS drivers by delivering and picking up packages safely and efficiently. You’ll gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment, working outdoors, and being an integral part of our essential delivery service. This role is crucial in helping us meet our customer commitments during periods of high demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist UPS drivers with package deliveries and pickups in residential and commercial areas.
- Help navigate routes, locate addresses, and manage package sorting within the vehicle.
- Handle packages carefully, ensuring safe transport and delivery to the correct recipients.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including lifting and handling techniques.
- Communicate effectively with the driver and report any issues or concerns promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 70 lbs (with assistance for heavier items).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labor or customer service role.
- Familiarity with the Houston area street network.
