Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Data Annotator to join our remote security task force. In this crucial role, you will play a vital part in enhancing our cybersecurity defense systems by meticulously reviewing, categorizing, and labeling diverse datasets related to cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents. This 100% remote position requires a keen eye for detail, a foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, and the ability to work independently to ensure the accuracy and quality of annotated data. Your contributions will directly support the development and improvement of machine learning models used for threat detection, incident response, and security analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Annotate large volumes of cybersecurity-related data, including logs, network traffic, security alerts, and threat intelligence reports, with high accuracy.
• Categorize and label data points according to predefined guidelines and taxonomies related to malware, phishing, vulnerabilities, and other cyber threats.
• Identify and escalate ambiguous or complex data annotation cases that require further analysis or guideline refinement.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts and data scientists to understand evolving annotation requirements and improve data quality.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of annotation guidelines and tools.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict data security protocols.
• Participate in regular quality assurance checks and feedback sessions to ensure consistency across annotated datasets.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in English, with excellent written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus on repetitive tasks.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, terminology, and common threat vectors (e.g., phishing, malware, DDoS).
• Familiarity with data annotation principles or experience with similar data labeling tasks.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
• Comfortable with using various software tools and platforms for data annotation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in data annotation, data entry, or quality assurance roles.
• Relevant certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation or automation.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
