Job Description
Are you a high school student looking for an exciting part-time job that fits your weekend schedule? AMC Theatres in Newark, NJ, is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our movie crew! This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a fun and dynamic environment. You’ll help ensure our guests have an amazing experience while enjoying the perk of free movies on your days off. No prior experience is required – we’re looking for motivated individuals eager to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with ticket taking and directing guests to auditoriums.
- Prepare and serve concession items, including popcorn, drinks, and candy.
- Maintain cleanliness of auditoriums, lobby, restrooms, and other common areas.
- Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and handle cash/card transactions.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering guest questions and resolving minor issues.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of special events or screenings as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding safety, sanitation, and guest service.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service or retail experience (not required, but a plus).
- An enthusiastic interest in film and the moviegoing experience.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
