Job Description

Are you a true animal lover with a special place in your heart for pets? Barking Mad Dog Care in Norwich is seeking dedicated and compassionate Pet Sitters to join our local team. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality care, companionship, and attention to animals in their own homes or within the client’s home environment. You’ll be a vital part of ensuring our furry friends are happy, healthy, and safe while their owners are away, offering peace of mind through reliable and loving service. This is a local role requiring presence in Norwich and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as required.
  • Engage pets in appropriate exercise and playtime, such as walks, fetch, and mental stimulation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets, including cleaning up after them and tidying pet areas.
  • Adhere to all specific client instructions regarding pet care routines, diet, and habits.
  • Communicate regularly with pet owners, providing updates and photos to reassure them.
  • Monitor pets for any signs of illness, distress, or unusual behavior and report concerns promptly.
  • Ensure the security of client homes during visits, following entry and exit procedures carefully.
  • Manage scheduling and visit logistics efficiently and reliably.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable passion for animals and their welfare.
  • Reliable and responsible with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Physically capable of handling various pet sizes and activity levels.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in pet sitting, dog walking, or animal care.
  • Knowledge of basic animal first aid.
  • Certification in pet care or animal behavior.
  • Local knowledge of Norwich and surrounding areas.
