Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Documentation Clerk with an engineering focus to join our remote team. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate and accessible engineering records, ensuring compliance, and supporting our technical operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of documentation tasks, from organizing technical specifications to managing project reports, all while working from the comfort of their home office in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, file, and maintain a high volume of engineering documents, including drawings, specifications, reports, and manuals.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist engineers and project managers with document retrieval and distribution.
- Input and update data in document management systems with precision and accuracy.
- Perform quality checks on documents to identify and correct errors.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand documentation needs and improve processes.
- Manage document version control to ensure the latest revisions are always accessible.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a documentation or administrative support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
- Basic understanding of engineering terminology or a strong willingness to learn.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with document management systems (DMS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical field, business administration, or related discipline.
- Previous experience in a documentation role specifically within an engineering or technical environment.
- Familiarity with CAD software or technical drawing principles.
- Knowledge of industry-specific documentation standards (e.g., ISO, ASME).
